London on August 25

My jacket (except for right near my wrists) and my L.L.Bean boots are water proof!

And there I am in front of the actual Westminster Abbey, and I promise that mom and I did know what it looked like before. We are going to blame the mix-up on jet lag and lack of coffee. The coffee in my hands was after we found the cathedral.

This cute building, The Albert, is a restored pub. But besides how beautiful all the flowers are, I couldn't get over the story about Prince Albert and Queen Victoria's love story. It is said that after Prince Albert died, Queen Victoria was so distraught she fled London to a summer home and did not return for many years until her Prime Minister told her "your people need you in London majesty."

We finished our first day with a shared plate of fish and chips and a jacket potato at a pub right down the street from our hotel called The Swan. Great atmosphere, very friendly staff, but very busy so if you ever visit get there early so you can have a dry seat inside. The next day was also filled with rain, but by participating in a hop-on hop-off bus system we were able to avoid getting as soaked as our first day.
