Globe Theater

"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages."

What's not to love about Shakespeare? In most plays there is love, sex, scandals and betrayals, and death happening all in one act. So it would seem an incomplete journey had we gone to London the city holding the Globe Theater and not visit it. And we also visited Stratford-upon-Avon the birthplace of William Shakespeare.

Though it was rather expensive for such a short visit in the Globe Theater there is a reason it is on every tour guide suggestion. With a listening tour of the museum and a guided tour into the theatre, the trip was a glimpse into not just Shakespeare's life but everyday people. Because there were actors on stage preparing for opening weekend no pictures were allowed inside, but I got to see people using the theater as it was meant to be used so no complaints here.

Besides our self guided tour of London, mother and I also participated in a hop-on hop-off tour bus and a bus tour of three sites (Stratford, Oxford, and Warwick Castle). I would highly recommend having a live guide on the hop-on hop-off, the employees are full of fun facts.

Getting my music history in at the Globe Theater (Dr. K Vaneman would be proud)
